Ed for Model Number Kitchenaid KSCS25INSS00 Hi. My fridge just recently stopped working. The freezer is no longer freezing and the fridge is no longer cold at all. In fact, all it does is stay on but no air at all. The electronic thermostat flashes and beeps. I replaced the condenser motor thinking it might be that but it wasnt. Could it be the compressor? If so, how complex is the install? Also, my ice maker stopped making ice. Do I need to replace the whole unit or should I just replace the motor? Thanks
Answer Ed, It would be more likely that the inverter for the compressor has failed rather than the compressor. If the compressor has failed you would have to have a certified tech come to replace it as the refrigerant would have to be evacuated and then more put in after compressor was replaced. Read More...
