Jeremy L. for Model Number sg1000 I hope u can help. I have a maytag SG1000 washer dryer stacked unit. In the center is a touchpad. The dryer simply stopped responding to all activation push-points. The washer responds, but there also some functions do not respond. I am pretty handy and tested and examined the pressure panel and control board. They both look ok. I have had trouble in the past and a good cleaning of the plug contacts cures everything. Not so lucky this time. When assembled the washer cold fill, and pause do not respond. None of the dryer activators respond. The self-diagnostic runs fine and shows no errors. I have the user manual and checked continuity on the pressure panel point to the ribbon leads. All seems OK including the cold fill and pause and all the dryer points. I suspect the L3 connection from the ribbon to the control board is faulty. How can I check beyond what I've done? Is there a fix to the ribbon connector, if that is the problem. Can I shunt test the leads to simulate the button press without blowing things up? The self test is OK but could the control board still be NG? or partially NG? I am determined to keep this beutiful made Maytag alive. At this point I truly need an experienced eye, something I lack. Please help! Thanks JL
Answer Hi Jeremy. I honestly commend your persistence. There is a potentiometer in the back area of the control board, along in the circuit with the Blue or the Red mov's. Turn the potentiometer a little either way and see if it will come off the "dead" spot to revive your issues. Also check your E-mail. Thank you. Read More...
