Hello Deb, You should first check the breaker by flipping it off then back on. If this does not help, unplug the unit and check the prongs of the plug for burned spots indicating a loose wall outlet. If nothing is found, open the cover where the power cord is connected and check for loose connections.

C for Model Number Maytag SE 1000

My Maytag SE 1000 washer would fill to desired selection and then just shut itself off !!!.To get the water out of the tub from that situation I I then hit the spin button and it drained the water and then was ok. Since that time if I hit spin 1st before doing anything else the machine would work but now when i hit spin 1st the machine just shuts itself off .You can hear the lid lock click and the lights say spin and even hear the motor engage for 2 seconds but then machine shuts itself off. I dont dare try to fill the machine because more then likely it will stop and then i wont be able to get the water out.at all. It was suggested that it is the motor but I'm also wondering if it could be the control panel. What would be good to start with. Also the se1000 is a combo unit and the washer is normally on a slide track mating to the dryer;is there any trick to pulling out the washer as its be in there for years and to get it out and tilted is a real chore just to work on it alone.Any Help !!! Regards C

Hello C, this sounds like the voltage to the control board is dropping when the motor starts. The control board is powered by a transformer and the motor is controlled by separate relays controlled by the board. Since the control cancels/resets once the washer motor starts under load this would be a voltage check (L1-Neutral 120v,,,L2 to Neutral 120v, on the rear terminal block at the rear top of the cabinet, the line cord and circuit breakers to determine where the voltage (under 100v) drop occurs on motor start.

Billyo for Model Number LSE1000

Hello … Like most others here, we love this laundry center and have been keeping it going. Now, I have a situation where if you push a wash function or dry function, the speaker beeps and for a very quick time, unreadable entries appear on the display. Then it goes dark. Sometimes, you may get a little water into the tub. I try to perform the self-diagnostics, but nothing happens. Am I looking at having to replace the control board (WP33001048)? I don't want to plop down $250 if it's not going to resolve the problem. Thank you!

William for Model Number SE1000 series 08

Bought this unit second hand. Washer ran one cycle and now when pressing start it won't fill hot or cold and begin. Not getting any 24 volt to the fill valve. Checked level switch and seems OK. Door switch seems to work and lock, you can hear it click.Other problem is dryer will turn but no heat. Have 120 on one side but not the other and not coming out of the heater relay. Not getting any reading on the terminal coming from the board to the relay and don't see the contacts working when starting the cycle. FYI I had to replace the heater element as it was blown. Could this have taken out the control board?

William, If there is 120 vac to one side of the lid switch but nothing on the other side then this would be a bad lid switch on the unit. If there is power through the lid switch and the control board is getting power then this would be a issue with the board.

Bonnie, Make sure you remove power to the stack set before you do anything. Remove the two screws from the bottom control panel trim and pivot it up and off the front panel. Remove the three 1/4 inch hex head screws from the key pad bracket, label or mark the wire connectors and remove them from the board. Place the assembly on a clean padded surface, disconnect the keypad ribbon from the control board and remove the six 3/8 inch nuts and lift the control board off the key pad bracket assembly. While you have it apart, use some rubbing alcohol and clean off the end of the keypad ribbon. Also apply a thin coat of dielectric grease along the edge of the wire connectors at the control board, this will help keep moisture, debris and corrosion from developing on or in the connectors and control board.

Bonnie Henderson for Model Number SE1000

Washer started fine. The clothes kept washing on wash cycle for over an hour until I realized it. There was nothing lit up on touch pad. Pressing the OFF pad did nothing. It kept agitating. Finally I realized I could open the door and it stopped. I manually touched SPIN, closed door. It went through Spin cycle. Kept spinning. I opened door and had to manually press Rinse, and Spin again by opening and closing door. I ordered new electronic control board (WP33001048) and will be replacing old one this week-end. I hope that is all I need...just the new control board. Am I right? Thanks
