Bill B for Model Number ADB1500AWW2 THE CONTROL PANEL LIGHTS WORK WHEN PRESSED, HEAVY DUTY WASH, TIME DELAY. THE START AND CANCEL BUTTON DOES NOTHING. I HAVE HAD THE CONTROL PANEL REPLACED APPROX. 1 YEAR AGO. WHEN PRESSING THE START CANCEL BUTTON THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE REST OF THE PANEL GLOW VERY DIMMLY. I HAVE UNPLUGED THE MACHINE TO SEE IF THAT HAD ANY EFFECT, IT DID NOT. ANY THOUGHTS
Answer Bill, Try this first. Remove poer to the dishwasher, Remove the inner door liner to access the control board, disconnect the touchpad rbbon, and clean the insertion end of the ribbon with electric contact cleaner or alcohol. Use a tooth brush or something similar,and clean the connector on the control board. After everything dries out/evaporates, re insert the ribbon into the board connection, and put a thin coat of vaseline or di electric grease all way around the connectot and ribbon as a "seal or barrier".
