Jason for Model Number abb2223dew The freezer is plenty cold, but the fridge is not doing it's job. I had a similar problem last year and called a repairman. I believe they replaced the damper control, but can't recall for certain and can't locate the reciept. I can't afford to have it repaired, so I'm taking it on myself. Is there a way of determining if it's the damper control or the control board? I have it on a forced defrost at the moment, and hope that solves the problem, but would really like to properly troubleshoot the issue before I order any repair parts.. I'm also trying to avoid buying a repair manual. Any advice or test procedures would be greatly appreciated. I'm a theatrical electrician, so I know how to use a tester and have tools. Thanks, JJS.
Answer Hello Jason! Is the freezer back wall building up with ice? If so, you may have a defrost control issue. The defrost is controlled by the defrost heater WP67001794, defrost thermostat 12001937, and the electronic board WPW10503278. If you have the tech data sheet it will have information on how to run the diagnostics on the unit. Hope this information helps you! Read More...
