Tom Lockhart for Model Number LGUB2642LF3 Code SY EF is being displayed, I replaced the evaporator fan and the code keeps coming back. I checked the damper door it’s closed at 67 degrees. What could be causing the code to still continue to display?
Answer Tom, the model number you supplied is for a Frigidaire "french door" refrigerator. The "SY EF" error code indicates a problem with the evaporator fan in the freezer compartment. The evaporator fan operates on 8 to 12 VDC. You may want to start at the control board on the bottom of the refrigerator ans see if you have the DC voltage out of the board to the fan, or vice versa, to determine where the issue is.
