Ed for Model Number Whirlpool Dutch door refrigerator GX5FHDXVQ02 The refrigerator stays around 10 degrees. I pulled the cover off the damper to see if damper door would open and close. If I set the temp control below 1 to just a horizontal line on the display the door closes but soon after I move it to 1 it opens and seems to stay open. Is this caused by the damper malfunctioning Or something else? Thanks for your helpful video and your help.
Answer Ed, the refrigerator thermistor 12002355 would need to be tested for resistance. With the refrigerator power cord unplugged, the sensor can be tested from the temperature control at connection J2 from pin 1 white wire to pin 3 white/orange wire. At 10°F, the resistance should measure around 70KO. If the sensor is around 70KO, the failure would be with the temperature control board WPW10503278, if the sensor is not around that resistance, the sensor would need to be replaced. Read More...
