William H for Model Number kbfa25erss01 My refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. Before this happened it was making an intermittent short buzz sound (down by where the compressor is) every few minutes. We came home and everything was defrosted. The refrigerator temp was room temperature and the temperature control pad is lit but not responsive. I unplugged the refrigerator and called a repair man. He came over and told me my temperature control module was bad, he also said that the amp draw on the compressor was too low (it was reading 1.4), he also said that it was low on refrigerant but that it was a sealed system and that he had a guy that could splice a valve into it and recharge it with coolant. He said to fix the refrigerator would cost more than it's worth, but that he had a guy that could fix it but it would be $400+ with no guarantee. The refrigerator worked fine up until the day it stopped working and now since he plugged it in and left ... it seems to be cooling off but the temp controls are unresponsive. What do you think?
