Steve for Model Number 2006 Whirlpool Duet Electric Dryer Dryer had power but would not start. I had a repair man come out and he diagnosed that the machine control board (8546219) was bad. So I ordered the part and installed it myself using your video. However, the machine is still doing the same thing. Power comes on but when I push start, nothing happens. Any suggestions as to what I should do next. Thanks Steve
Answer Steve, You will want to check the door switch to makes sure that it is good. A faulty door switch will cause the unit to not start. With the door closed the door switch should have continuity. If not then the switch is faulty and would need to be replaced. Also check the thermal fuse on the blower housing for continuity. If no continuity then the thermal fuse is faulty and would need to be replaced. If this is the case then you will also want to check the venting to make sure that there is no clog from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. Read More...
