Jeff W. for Model Number GEW9250PW0 The "control locked" indicator light is intermittently lit, and the control panel won't respond. I hold the cancel and start buttons and the light sometimes goes out, then the dryer seems to function normally. I also think the vent tubing has a lot of built up material and needs to be cleaned. Are these symptoms somehow related?
Answer Hello Jeff, The control locked light is indicating that the customer option to "lock out the controls" has been initiated. This is normally caused by a stuck button/s on the control. It is very seldom caused by the control board. The lint build-up is an indication of poor air circulation. This is usually caused by a crimped or excessively long and/or complicated duct. It can also be caused by a bad blower wheel or an article of clothing or a softener sheet inside the blower wheel. The two problems are not related. Read More...
