Brett for Model Number GEW9250PW0 I have a whirlpool duet dryer model GEW9250PW0 that the control circuit board went out on. The original part number is 8546219 Rev C. The part has been discontinued by the manufacturer. I found a refurbished part online advertised as the same part number, but when it arrived, the actual part number on the board was 3978918 Rev A. The two part numbers are listed as interchangeable on appliance parts pros, but when I installed the new circuit board, the dryer modes don’t work right. The dryer runs fine but only in like three modes which don’t match up with the dial position. My question is does the Rev A vs Rev C make a difference? Like different programming? Visually the two circuit boards are identical.
Answer Brett, the control 3978918 is an older version of the control board 8546219. As such, it is going to have an older programming to operate on which would cause operational issues. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, January 9, 2020
