Henry for Model Number gew9200ll1 i have power to the 220 terminal hook up but where it comes in to the machine control panel but kow responce to star , or lights on the panel , theres a burnt smell on the board .
Answer Henry, you will need to remove the power to the dryer, remove the top panel, and check for any damaged, burnt wires between the terminal block and the machine control board, inside the cabinet on the left side above the drum. Visually inspect the board for damage, discoloration, and burnt spots or components. Then restore power and use a multimeter to carefully check for 120 VAC across the P1 pin 2 white wire and the P1 pin 5 black wire. If you have the voltage, the machine control board has failed WP8546219 / 3980062 Control Board. The control board is no longer available from the manufacturer, you may need to contact local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturer's part number. Also try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model or usable part for your machine. Contact refurbishing companies to repair the existing control board. Read More...
