Clint for Model Number 9200lw1 electric Have the E3 code when pressing the temperature buttin on console during diagnostic. Looks like it is the control board shot. The back of the heater relay is visibly burnt out. I have oredered a new board, but is there something else that would make the relay fail? Is there something else I should check? I do not want to fry the new board as well. Thanks in advance for any replies.
Answer Clint, Is your area suseptable to power outages or voltage surges ? A damaged relay is a good reason for a E3 code, software mismatch. Check and make sure the wiring from the control board through the thermal cut off and hi limit thermostat have not shorted to the chassis, check the heater element, casing and wires for arc marks or shorts to the chassis.
