Alan for Model Number Maytag/Jenn-Air JDS9860AAB

This range came with the house. When it first developed a problem, I turned power off at the breaker box then back on, and the touchpad would work for the vent fan, auto bake at 350 F., and warm at 170 F. So as long as we could bake at 350 F, I put off the repair. Today it started beeping (sounds like an S.O.S.) and the touchpad is completely nonfunctional, so I finally shut it off at the breaker. Serial number is 13009588ZM. Any suggestions on whether to replace the control pad, control board, or to just replace the whole darned thing?

Answer

Hi Alan. Is the beeping along with showing a code ? The F-3 means that the oven sensor part # 12001656 needs changed. It should read 1080-1100 ohms cold. While checking it, rotate the wires so you are getting a full range of checking it. Remove the door and the control panel. Disconnect the ribbon cable from the clock. If it continues to beep then the clock is needing replaced. It is part # WP74006363. If it only beeps when the touch pad is plugged in then the keypad is stuck shorted, needing replaced. It is part # WP74005750. Thank You.
