Kevin for Model Number GU2300XTLB1

Hi. I have just replaced my motor/pump and the unit goes through the cycles correctly and seems to operate normally except for a couple of things: Dishes on the top rack are barely getting cleaned and it is buzzing loudly during the cycle (sounds like 60Hz relay chatter). I have checked the spray arms, sump and waterways for obstructions and they are perfectly clear. Also, I'm not sure that it is filling all the way but I'm not sure how much water should be in the tub when full. The filled level is a half inch below the heating element which seems wrong to me. The float switch works correctly. I know the water supply temp is at least 120 but the water doesn't seem to be as hot as it should be even when using the hi-temp scour function. When I do select that function, wash time is in excess of three hours! The unit also develops an abnormal amount of scum inside and it sounds like the water pressure is weak while washing. I now suspect that the motor is not getting the correct voltage but I can't confirm that with the unit installed. The results are the same with the new motor so I suspect that the motor wasn't the fault. There is no smoke or burnt smell from the panel but could it be the control board given the rest of the symptoms? How can I confirm the correct motor voltage while the unit is installed and running? Thanks!

Answer

Hello Kevin. It sounds like the water valve may be bad and not letting in enough water. It should fill up close to the bottom of the heater.
