Josh for Model Number KUDS01DJBL1 I have a kitchenaid dishwasher - KUDS01DJBL1. About 2 months ago the thermal fuse blew and I replaced it and all was good. Now, the dishwasher works as expected, except that when it gets to end of cycle it keeps whirring - I think it's the drain pump that is making the noise. I cleaned out the bottom area - removed a bunch of crud, but sill keeps running. I replaced the control unit with another that I had, although not sure if that one works properly - the replacement ran the cycle longer, but still kept whirring at the end. Thoughts on diagnosis? I thought perhaps a turbidity sensor, but i don't think this model has one. I'm quite comfortable checking things with a meter.
Answer Josh, the whirring could potentially the vent WP8545533 motor keeping the vent door closed for drying purposes. During a normal cycle it can remain closed for up to 4 hours. Inspecting if the noise is coming from the vent can identify if this would be the source. While the motor can create noises, it should not be excessively loud. Read More...
