Joane I have a whirlpool Acubake gas range. When I use the burners and turn the oven on, I get a power failure message and the oven shuts off. When the oven has been on for a while I get a power failure
Answer Hello Joane, This sounds like a poor electrical connection or a bad breaker. I would check the receptacle and range cord and the breaker before going anywhere in troubleshooting the range itself. The range cord should be checked at the terminal block,(where it bolts onto the range). The cord prongs should be inspected for burned spots, which are indications of a bad receptacle. Anything that indicates a point of heat such as discoloration, melted insulation, black "arch" spots, are suspect. If the unit is hardwired, (meaning no receptacle), the junction box should be opened and the connections inspected for burned wire nuts or discolored split bolts. If no bad connections are located, the clock assembly is the first on board component to be suspect. A power interruption is the only thing that will cause your issue unless the circuit that senses the power interruptions is at fault. Read More...
