Wes for Model Number 66516534200 Kenmore dishwasher comes on but stops at 76 minutes and does not progress. Water does get hot, but lights indicate both "sensing" and "heating pause". Have been letting it wash a while and then cancel drain and then run quick rinse, which does run through and stops appropriately. While rinsing "sensing" light is lit but no "heating pause". Not sure if we need thermostat or new control panel or what else it could need. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Answer Hello Wes, The unit goes into a thermal hold 2 to 3 times during the cycle. If the temperature is never met then the unit will not advance any further. You will want check the resistance of the thermistor and all of the connections in the thermistor circuit. You will also want to check the ability of the control to read the thermistor in the diagnostics. There is a wiring diagram that will tell you the resistance of the thermistor and how to access the diagnostics cycle. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
