Elaine S for Model Number kitchenaid KUDS01FL dishwasher The unit is approximately 7 years old. My husband just replaced the door tensioners and latch. It kept falling open & then latch didn't seem to be holding. The unit was working fine again after he fixed it. I have used it for several weeks but now no lights are coming on panel at all. Seems like it quit mid-cycle since there was still water in bottom. My husband has taken it apart. All the connections seem to be fine. Verified power is going to dishwasher & reset breaker but still no lights on panel & is not operating. Do you think it is the control board?
Answer Elaine, You will want to check the thermal fuse for in the control panel area for continuity. If there is no continuity then the fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. If the fuse is good make sure that there is power getting to the control board and check to make sure that the latch is making good contact. With door closed make sure that you have 120 vac at the latch assembly. If power getting to the control board and the latch has power then the control board would most likely be the cause.
