Link, First we're going to need a complete and proper model number, that way we can trace. track wires and circuits properly(especially a Sears/Kenmore machine). In most cases the tan wire at the control board is routed back to the door switch, through the thermal fuse and down to the electrical junction box. Check the power connections in the junction box, make sure everything is attached properly and tightly. Check the wiring and connections at the heater element and high limit switch on the bottom of the tub. Loose wire connections can cause high amperage draws and voltage spikes, causing connections to burn and fail. You'll want to check the thermal fuse in the control panel, for a closed circuit and the door switches and wires on the latch assembly.
