Rod K. for Model Number GU2400XTPS3 During the normal wash, the dishwasher stops mid-cycle with the repeated blinking (7 times) clean status LED. I believe Dishwasher (GU2400XTPS3) control board may be malfunctioning. Dishwasher heater element heats and water pump/drain are functioning. Further, nothing unusual was observed when running the dishwasher in a 16-minute diagnostic mode cycle. When de-energized, the circuit connecting K2 Relay (P6), High-Limit Thermostat, heater element, and door switch (neutral in terminal) measures continuity with a reading of 10.6 to 11.4 ohm(dependent on how much force is applied to tips of multi-meter probes). The spec for the heater element is 10 to 30 ohms, so it appears the wiring, heater, and hi-limit thermostat are intact. Am, I missing something. I’m considering sending the control board to 3rd party repair agency to refurbish the board (since it’s no longer available thru Whirlpool), but would like to confirm the board really needs fixing. Any thoughts on if I'm missing something?
Answer Rod, Thanks for the question!!! Isolate the heater from the circuit and check the resistance on it again. The whole circuit measuring at 10.6 ohms could mean the heater will be less when checked by itself and that would make it out of spec. Read More...
