William for Model Number gu2500xtps3 whirlpool Over the past year several times the clean light flashes 7 times and the washer will not run. If I press normal wash then heated dry three times in succession the computer goes into the diag mode and fixes it's self. Today it started ok on normal wash and said it had 74 mins to complete the wash process. Now 2 hours later it is still running and shows 44 Min left. Do I need a control panel and a computer?
Answer William, You will want to check your heater circuit for a failure. The clean light blinking 7 times indicates that the unit is not heating properly. Check the heater and the thermistor to make sure that they are good. Check to make sure that the wiring does not have any breaks in it and if these check ok then you will need a new control board.
