Darren How do I know if the igniter is bad? Someone told it might be the glow igniter. They say it should be white in color when it get hot. The oven will get up to 450 degrees but it will not cook certain foods. The igniter does not get white in color. Should the igniter get white in color when it is hot. They say you can test the igniter and sensor.
Answer Hello Darren. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
