Scott December 28, 2022 for Model Number WFG515S0ES0 the bake will spark and light... but continues to spark.. and then will go out. i am assuming it is the thermocupler?
1 Answer Hello Scott, the DSI spark board is not sensing the burner's flame, as such it will try resparking then will shut off, usually this is due to either the flame not reaching the burner's spark ignitor or the burner has become loose or has corrosion where it mounts to the chassis causing a loss of the ground return circuit back to the spark board. Suggest the burner be removed and the area where it mounts to the chassis be cleaned and the mounting screws be tightened. Read More...
Dan February 17, 2022 for Model Number Weg515S0FS0 I have an issue with my 2 year old Whirlpool oven. The oven burner lights fine but then shuts off after 30 seconds and to get it to light again I have to turn off the breaker to reset the unit. I've replaced the igniter with two other ones, which seem to work for a short amount of time but then the oven does the same thing. I've replaced the burner tube - no difference I've replaced the gas valve - no difference It seems like weak rectification but the unit is well grounded.
1 Answer Dan, during a bake cycle, the spark module control W10898291 would need to be tested for 120VAC at the red wire with a white stripe. If there is voltage when the oven has cooled too much, the module has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Greg February 09, 2021 for Model Number WFG520S0AS2 My oven seems to only lite intermittently. When I turn the oven on I can hear the gas turn on, the clicking ignitor, but it only ignites sometimes. When it doesn't lite, I can hear the clicking sound of it trying to ignite again, but after this happens it usually does not lite and I have to turn the oven off as the smell of gas becomes strong. I try a day later and works no problem. Is this an ignitor the needs replacing, or something else?
1 Answer Greg, For this issue, The most likely cause for this issue would be a faulty spark module which would be part number WPW10511278. Read More...
Jim December 22, 2020 for Model Number GFG461LVS The range top burners are working well. The oven does not light, however, it can by lit manually and works fine from that point on. Does it just require a new igniter?
1 Answer Jim, the oven igniter is a good possibility, you'll want to check the wiring to make sure the wire isn't shorted or pinched to chassis ground, also check the bake burner tube for debris and spillage. If all checks OK, then replace the WPW10331686/9758080 Module, Spark a weak or failed ignition circuit to the bake burner/igniter on the DSI module would be the most likely issue. Terence November 07, 2020 for Model Number WEG515S0FS0 My oven ignites sporadically. The range burners ignite without issue. I replaced the igniter and it worked for three ignitions and then stopped.
1 Answer Terence, if the burner is thoroughly clean where a spark can occur without incident, the gas valve W10898290 solenoid would need to be tested for voltage while the appliance is in a bake cycle. There should be a voltage between 8 to 18VDC when testing from the red wired terminal to the orange wired terminal. If the voltage is correct, the valve has failed. If the voltage is not correct, but the ignitor sparks, then the DSI control W10898291 has failed. If there is not a spark, the DSI board would need to be tested for 120VAC from the red and white wire to the white wire. If there is 120VAC, and nothing occurs, the DSI board has failed. If there is not 120VAC, the main control W10894102 has failed. Read More...
Tony May 04, 2020 for Model Number AGR5630BDW0 Hi I have an amana range. The oven will lite and reach set temperature. Then it will not maintain the desired tempature and shuts off. What part should I be lookin at to replace?
1 Answer Tony, This could be either an oven sensor or the control board. Check the oven sensor with a multi-meter (1000 - 1200??at room temperature) and if the reading are not correct it would need to be replaced. If the reading for the temp sensor are correct then it is likely the control board. Control board in white WPW10572544 in Black W10899231 and the oven sensor WPW10181986 Read More...
Jennifer April 03, 2020 for Model Number AGR5630BDS1 Hi I have an Amana gas stove that I bought in 2017. My tenant mentioned that there is a slight gas smell. The gas company came out and detected a small amount of gas only 1 out of 6 times. She mentioned that the glow plug might be going. What part is this and can it be replaced easily? Jennifer
1 Answer Jennifer, This would most likely be one of the valves that would be the issue but would need to know which one is leaking to be able to determine what part would be needed. The igniters on this unit will not cause this issue. If the issue is gas in the oven then the oven safety valve would be the issue. Read More...
Mr. Scott November 12, 2019 for Model Number whirlpool xfg371lvs Have had this gas stove for ~ 8 years. An intermittent problem is now more frequent: When we turn the oven on, there is a click (normally occurs once, and then oven lights), but no pilot ignition... click again, and again (several seconds apart), but oven never lights. We found that if we start the broiler, the oven will then light (with only one click) and work correctly (for several uses). Please advise what part(s) are the culprit.
1 Answer Mr. Scott, it is possible that the bake burner or orifice may have a clog in the ports that would need to be cleared. Once this has been verified as being clear, the safety valve WPW10293048 can be tested from the middle terminal to each of the outside terminals and should measure 216 ohms each. If the ohms do not read properly, the safety valve has failed. Read More...
Jesse April 25, 2019 for Model Number agr6303mfbo My Amana oven doesn't work. The igniter doesn't glow. It has two, a bake and a broil. What could be the problem? The top burners work.
1 Answer Hello Jesse, You will first need to check the oven temperature sensor W10833885 for about 1100 ohms at about 70 degrees F. you will then need to test it again from the control board to ensure no problems with the harness exist. If good, the issue will either be the spark module WPW10511278 or the control board W10915633. Read More...
Frank January 20, 2019 for Model Number WFG361LVB3 Hello, the bake and broil functions of my Whirlpool gas range stop working, but all the top surface burner work fine. When I turn on the Bake or Broil, I can hear the sound of two clicks, but the oven does not ignite. If I immediately open the oven door, I can also smell the odor of natural gas. After reading some posts here, I thought the burner igniter may be not the problem. However, after I installed a new igniter, I still run into the same problem of oven not lighting up. What else should I look into? Can you please kindly help. Thanks! Frank
1 Answer Frank, you have a DSI ignition system. Direct Spark Ignition. You can check for 120 volts AC at the control board from J1-4 to J1-6. If voltage is there, replace the spark module control board, WPW10331686. When checking for 120 volts, make sure the oven is set to the bake mode. Read More...
