John James for Model Number WFG520S0AS0 The broiler on my oven lights but the oven does not light. when I turn the oven on I hear the sparker operate a few times, then I smell gas for a few minutes then nothing happens. The broiler works Fine and the Stove top rings all light and operate properly. It is just the bake oven that doesn't work. What would be the cause of this and how do I repair it?
Answer John, You will want to test the oven safety valve from Center post to bake terminal and make sure that there is 216 ohms of resistance. If this checks ok then check to make sure that the igniter is sparking by doing a visual check. If there is no spark then this would most likely be caused by a faulty Spark module. Read More...
