Eric for Model Number Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer WED8300SW0 My dryer is no longer producing heat. It's about 4 years old. Taking the vent off the back, I do not feel heat either. Diagnostic mode shows F-28 indicating moisture sensor is "open". I cleaned the bars with rubbing alcohol as well as the contacts. No help. Is the next step replacing the moisture sensor bars? Thanks
Answer Hello Eric. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater WP8544771 and thermal fuses 279973 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
