It continues to flow into the dishwasher at a reduced rate and accumulates in the lower basin and after a number of hours can overflow into the kitchen. I'm not sure what part might need replacement. The float & retainer assembly? This only occurs every 8 or 10 washing cycles.
Answer Hello Mike, There is no spring in the water valve to aid in it's closure. This means basically that if the water pressure is too low or a crimp in the water line that the water pressure has to bleed through, the water valve will be slow to close.
