Frank for Model Number older kitchen aid Does not fill with water! runs OK if I put water in. Could it be the float?
Answer Frank, Yes, the float WP8268895 could be stuck in an up (full) position. It could also be the flaot switch WP8268909 on the underside of the tub , but it's most likely a faulty fill valve WP8531669. You need to remove the lower access panel and kickplate and check the switch and valve wiring. If you carefully lift and lower the float from inside the tub, you should be able to hear the switch activate and deactivate, that's an even easier and faster test. . Read More...
