A sensor device that measures water flow rate during wash cycles, usually located along the water inlet line inside the washer. Replace if wash cycles don't progress properly, the washer overfills or underfills, or if error codes related to water flow appear.

Answer

Jim, This is normal operation for an HE low-water washer. The load will not be completely underwater. The washer senses load sizes and adds correct amount of water for optimal cleaning. See “What’s New under the Lid.” IMPORTANT: Do not add more water to washer. The added water lifts the load off the impeller, resulting in less cleaning.The max usage during a cycle is going to be approximately 17 gallons. IMPORTANT: You will not see a washer basket full of water as with your past agitator-style washer. It is normal for some of the load to be above the water line.
