Gary, it is recommended that the water valve WPW10175893 is tested for incoming voltage when a cycle is started. If there is 120VAC, the valve has failed and would need to be replaced. If there is not voltage, the temperature switch WPW10179666 has failed and would need to be replaced.

Belinda, based on the information provided, the most likely cause would be the timer WPW10243947. The timer can be tested for voltage output to the motor from the blue wire at pin 5 to ground. If there is not 120VAC from the timer after filling with water, then the timer has failed and would need to be replaced.

Hello Keith, You should replace that flow sensor assembly WPW10110225 since it is the most common failure in the fill circuit because of sedimentation and minerals in the water supply.

Harper, The water valve should be the only thing that would cause the unit to continue to run water into the unit in the idle state but to be sure unplug the unit and see if it still runs in. If it does then replace the valve. If it does not then this will be a control board issue. The flow meter is just to measure the amount of water flowing into the unit during the cycle. It is rare for the flow meter to fail but would also normally get an error code for this.

Hello Beimar. That is an indicator for a siphoning issue, slow fill, or bad water valve. Also, make sure the pressure hose is not clogged and the flow meter is good. Thank you.

Hello Gina, To test the flow meter WPW10176591 disconnect the wires from it and remove the hoses so you can blow through it. Touch the terminals with an ohm meter. When you blow through it, the resistance should change. If not, it has failed.

Naoto for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1

Hi, we have a problem with our Maytag top load washer which was purchased 5 years ago. When it gets to the spin cycle (in all modes) water is pouring in the entire spin cycle. After the cycle is completed, the clothes are soaking wet, but there is no water standing in the tub, so its draining while pouring in. And also, washer starts agitating immediately (while the water starts pouring in) when we start washing clothes instead of waiting until the water has finished pouring to the correct level. As far as my research, this is casued becasue of failer of water inlet valve or water pressure switch. If so, do you have them. Or anything else is causing this problem? I need you help. THANKS!
