John S. for Model Number Glt3657rb00 Does The glass cook top come off after burner screws are removed. I am replacing the spark wiring harness. The glass cook top was hit by lightening!
Answer John, Yes the glass cooktop can be removed after the control knobs and the burner base screws are removed. Remember to label the location of the burner caps and bases before you remove them, it makes it a lot easier to reconstruct the cooktop, if you do. It's also a good idea to remove the drip pans under the burner bases as well, it'll give you better leverage and room to remove the glass top ( the glass panel can "stick" to the burner box frame and is a little difficult to remove).
