Ethan for Model Number GLT3657 My cooktop is Whirlpool Gold model GLT3657 with glass surface. The five burners all keep clicking suddenly even while off. I have cleaned them all to make sure no water and dirt around igniters and burner caps, but still clicking all the time. I also replaced the spark module (part# WB13T10047), but no luck. Is there anything that can cause the problem?
Answer Ethan, You will need to check for a good solid ground and polarity at the wall outlet, Then check the gas valve ignition switch circuit(s) . They should all have an "open" circuit, when the knob(s) are in the "OFF" position. Reversed polarity and a weak or intermittent earth ground can cause the spark module to maintain a "charge" and arc the igniters even in the OFF position. Read More...
