Ed for Model Number mde3758ayw Is the heating element conecting wire made of special wire? The one on the lower side of my dryer had burned and came loose. I want to order the replacment for this but also want to be able to use it in the meantime. Can I use a normal 16 gauge wire and a wire nut with a new high temp spade clip for a short while? I am also going to order a new belt and replace the drum slides while I am in there since its ready for them. Thanks, Ed
Answer Ed, Unfortunately you would not want to try to use a 16 or any other wire to use the unit for the time being. This would be a safety hazard doing this and the wire would melt as it would get too hot. You would want to replace the element. Read More...
