Jen for Model Number 11060702990 I removed the heating element from my dryer. It is all black and sooty. I ordered a new element and new thermostats. am I on the right track for repair. none of the coils on the heating element appear to be burned through.
Answer Jen, If the problem is the dryer won't heat, then you'll have the majority of the possible problems solved by replacing the heater and thermostats, so you're on track. You may also want to remove the front panel assembly, and vacuum any excess and residual lint from the base of the machine, as well as the internal components inside the cabinet.
