Michael Goodwin for Model Number 11060812990 My thermal cutoff switch had a burnt wire so i bought the kit to replace it and the upper limit thermostat. First off, i dont have the orange wire that i see in videos that connects to the older style upper limit thermostat. The newer thermostat has two terminals but doesn't connect to the heater element the way the old one does. I was going to use the jump wire to connect from the lower terminal on the thermostat to the heating element terminal. will this be a safe way to install the newer upper limit themostat.? the old one had a metal extension with a kind of double connector that fit over the heating element terminal and had a terminal that the orange wire was connected to. not sure what that orange wire in the video goes to from the upper limit thermostat. Thanks for any help. Mike
Answer Michael, You would just use the jumper wire to go from the thermostat to the heating element. This was a design change that the manufacturer made to do this repair. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, December 10, 2021
