Kenmoreelite for Model Number 66517514201 I have the Kenmore Elite 66517514201 Stainless tub. It stopped heating a year ago and I have not used it since. It runs for up to 3 hours but does not stay hot and dishes come out very dirty. The whole thing also smells due to the food not washing out. How do I tell what is the cause of the problem? Heating Element? Thermal Sensor? Circuit board? Looking at WHIRLPOOL Heating Element Kit (Part Number: AP3841139). Is this all I will need?
Answer Hello Kenmoreelite. You can test the heater 8194200 and the thermostat WP661566. They should read closed for continuity. If the thermostat is good, replace the heater kit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
