Frank for Model Number KUDSO2FRSS1 Hi, I have a KitchenAid KUDSO2FRSS1. It is just started running crazy hot. It completes all the cycles and drains fine, but just gets way too hot. Because it does the whole cycle, I assume the thermal fuse hasn't blown. Is the overheating caused by the control board and heating element or could there be a thermostat issue?
Answer Frank, there could be an issue either with the OWI sensor or the control. The way to test this is if you have the power to the dishwasher turned off at the breaker, you can test by accessing the control panel. With the power completely off to the unit, you will want to remove the yellow wires at p15. You will then want to test resistance of wire 1 to wire 3. At room temperature it should read between 48 to 52 kohms. If it does not read within this range, you have a bad OWI sensor WPW10705575. If it reads within this range, you most likely have a control board WPW10084141 issue. The most your dishwasher should reach in temperature is going to be 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Read More...
