T.E. for Model Number WOS31ES0JS I need help with my new Whirlpool Oven door. During the installation, I took the door off to install as recommended. Now I can't get the door back on because both hinges are locked in place. I can't get the hinge lock to release at all. Anyway, release the lock without damaging the hinge, or should I call a technician? Thanks
Answer Hello T.E., You may be able to use a pair of vise grips to pull the hinges down far enough to lock the tabs to the open position. If so, you can then proceed to install the door since the hinges have to be locked to the open position to install the door on the unit. The springs are very strong and can be dangerous to deal with so you will need to be cautious not to acquire any injuries from the assembly.
