Cindy J. for Model Number SVE47100W I have a Jenn Air stove/oven model SVE47100W. The oven door hinge broke so I ordered and received a new one. Part 71003351. The part I received is slightly different in that the black part (looks kind of like a puzzle piece) is slightly larger than the original broken part so it won't fit properly. We can't close the oven door all the way. Is there a way to make this one fit or is it maybe a manufacturing defect? Thank you.
Answer Cindy, We are not aware of any needed modifications to the door hinge. These"bear claw" hinges WP71003351 can be tricky and touchy, when being installed. You do have to make sure the bear claw slots are properly "seated" as far down as possible on the pins in the receptacle. You will also need to check and make sure the receptacles WP71002206 are mounted tightly to the frame and the pins are not bent or loose. Read More...
