James August 03, 2016 for Model Number SVD48600W DOES THE OVEN DOOR JUST LIFT OFF. IT SEEMS TO BE BINDING ON SOMTHING WHEN YOU OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR
Herbert K March 14, 2016 for Model Number 790.48739900 Upon removing the lower door, I failed to put door in the "broil" position. As I lifted the door off of the oven, both hinges snapped into the fully closed position. After removing the two hinge screws and leveraging the hinge with the bottom piece, the hinge will go into, but will not remain in the "broil" position, which stops me from removing the hinge from the door.....Any suggestions??
1 Answer Herbert, You will have to take a towel and fold it up and pull downward on the hinge to get it to the open position and then lock it in. Once you do this you should be able to pull the hinge out. Read More...
Ron December 07, 2015 for Model Number SVE47500W how do you remove the oven door on this model ? thank you
1 Answer Ron, Open the oven door as wide as possible. Insert a small 1/8" diameter pin(8 penny nails or 1/8" drill bits work pretty good)through the hole on the right and left door hinges to hold the hing open. Remove the two Phillips head screws holding the hinge retainer plates and hinge cover plate on the oven front frame, just above the hinge arm, left and right sides, and set aside. Raise the oven door up to the broil stop, the door liner will align and press against the 1/8" pins Grasp the door on both sides near the top, lift the door up and out to remove the door and hinge from the oven door receiver inside the front frame of the oven. ( the hinge assembly will remain in the door liner assembly. Read More...
Bruce E. April 25, 2014 for Model Number SVE47600B This isn't a question; it's feedback. I had a hinge break on my oven. I ordered a pair of (factory certified) replacements, which arrived promptly. My disappointment is with the parts them selves. After replacement, the door wouldn't close all the way un-assisted. I mounted the old hinges, w/o the door, and they sloped in toward the top. the new hinges sloped away from the top. I was able to do some grinding to get the new hinges to at least parallel, but this should not have been necessary.
1 Answer Bruce, Thanks for the input. You're correct, grinding the hinges isn't necessary. It's been a long time practice with these units to replace the hinges and the receptacles WP71002206 at the same time. In some cases you may want to or have to insert two small thin washers between the receptacle and the front flange on the top mounting screw, to offset the receptacle, then put the oven through a 4 hour self clean cycle, so the gasket and the door panel reseat and conform to the opening. Thanks Again. Read More...
Cindy J. February 10, 2013 for Model Number SVE47100W I have a Jenn Air stove/oven model SVE47100W. The oven door hinge broke so I ordered and received a new one. Part 71003351. The part I received is slightly different in that the black part (looks kind of like a puzzle piece) is slightly larger than the original broken part so it won't fit properly. We can't close the oven door all the way. Is there a way to make this one fit or is it maybe a manufacturing defect? Thank you.
1 Answer Cindy, We are not aware of any needed modifications to the door hinge. These"bear claw" hinges WP71003351 can be tricky and touchy, when being installed. You do have to make sure the bear claw slots are properly "seated" as far down as possible on the pins in the receptacle. You will also need to check and make sure the receptacles WP71002206 are mounted tightly to the frame and the pins are not bent or loose. Read More...
