J for Model Number ET21GKXHW00 My ice maker isn't making ice. It slowly made ice and now I have zero ice in bucket. The fill tube is completely clear but I am not getting water to ice maker. I have good pressure going into valve. Supply tube is clear of debris. I ran the ice maker through a harvest cycle and received 118VAC to water inlet valve. I performed continuity test on the valve and received ~174 ohms. I could not locate ohm rating on valve. Since the valve reads below 200 ohms, would it be best to replace the valve? Would it recommended to replace ice maker and water inlet valve together?
Answer Hello J. Test for power from the icemaker to the valve. If there, replace the valve. If not, replace the icemaker. You can only find the voltage during a harvest cycle. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
