John Rhea for Model Number KIMS8

I have a 30 yr old Kitchenaid frige (top freezer) with virtually no repairs (I hate to even move it). I believe it was the biggest capacity I could buy in 1993. The original icemaker has quit. Frige book says model KTRS20K, 22K, or 25K. Icemaker book says KIMS8. I can see how to replace the icemaker with probably only inside the freezer work (seems fairly simple) but I want to get one that will fit the 3 screws alrteady there and the electric collar also. Hope you can help me. Thank you

Hello Serge, First, make sure there is water pressure to the refrigerator by removing the water line and turning the water on with the line in a bucket. If full water pressure is present, let the unit sit for 24 hours and check on it at that time. If still no water, use a straw in the fill tube to make sure it is not frozen. If not, replace the water valve under the part warranty if 120 volts ac is getting to the valve near the end of the icemakers cycle. (There is such a thing as a defective new part). If, after 24 more hours, there is still no water reaching the icemaker, you could have a bad contact in the icemaker 5303918493 or a wiring issue if the voltage is not being supplied to the water valve from the icemaker.
