Meredith J for Model Number Whirlpool side by side Model No. GD5SHAXLQ02 Ice maker is operating OK, however, we are collecting water which is freezing in the bottom of the freezer, then running over onto the floor. This occurs continuously even when the icemaker is turned off. I would assume we have a leak somewhere internally in the tubing, therefore we need to buy a new tubing outfitted for this model????? Does that sound reasonable?? How do I find the part to order if that's the case? Thanks Meredith Johnson
Answer Meredith, There is no "internal" tubing to the ice maker, all the tubing is mounted on the back wall and inside the compressor compartment. You also have a filter housing and filter, located behind the kickplate vent grill, you'll want to remove the grill and check for a possible leak from the tubes on the filter housing, and move the refrigerator away from the wall and check the tubing and connectors for cracks and leaks, including at the water inlet fill valve.
