Ted Tarchala for Model Number GI7FVCXWY02 I am having a problem with my refrigerator ice maker. The water overflows the ice cube tray. The ice maker produces ice but every time it ejects ice then fills the tray it gets overfilled with water. I have replaced the ice maker (WPW10122559) and water inlet valve (WP12956105), but that hasn’t fixed the problem. I have tried to adjust the water controller (turning clockwise 1 turn) but that had no impact. I put a pressure gage on the water inlet and am 60-80 psi. Any thoughts what can be wrong? This is a 6 cube ice maker. Is there a special module specific to this refrigerator where the fill level can be adjusted lower? Whirlpool refrigerator model GI7FVCXWY02
Answer Ted, There is no special module that would allow for a lower ice maker fill. There are 2 water valves on this unit and the valve that you did not replace could be faulty causing this issue to occur. There is one at the back of the unit and there is one in the ceiling of the refrigerator section. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, March 2, 2021
