Nb I have replaced this same unit twice in my KitchenAid fridge (W10122576). It dies, water dribbles out onto the floor and damages flooring, and it stops making ice completely. I replace and am good for about 2.5 years. Have done this twice. Is this newer part # an updated model? What has changed? Have the new ones continued to fail? I'm ready to shut off the ice maker and leave it (I can deal with replacing regularly, but I'm away a lot and have replaced the floor in my kitchen twice due to water damage!!) If this will fix the problem, I'll buy it. If not I'd rather just make ice using ice cube trays to avoid the floor damage.
Answer Hello NB. The icemaker has not changed in design. It is not common for them to leak that often. You may have a water valve issue with the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 12, 2016
