Michael July 26, 2024 for Model Number WRS558F1HW00 After replacing the the ice maker I noticed that the ice level lever did not drop down. I would have thought that it would. Does this mean that there is an electrical problem or that a section of the circuit board is bad? Is there a way to check this?
1 Answer Hello Michael, thank you for contacting APP, This icemaker does not lower the lever by itself, if the lever is straight out to the side of the icemaker it is in the OFF position and will need to be placed in the ON position manually. The ON position will have that lever slanted down towards the ice/ice bin. This lever is to keep the ice bin from overflowing. Read More...
Michael July 26, 2024 for Model Number WRS558F1HW00 I just replaced the ice maker assembly. No water dispensed into the ice tray. Is there something I need to reset after replacing the Ice Maker Assembly. Should water IMMEDIATELY be dispensed into the ice tray or does the unit take some time? Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Michael, the ice maker would not call for water immediately. It generally takes one hour for an ice maker to produce its first batch of ice and 24 hours to create multiple batches. It is generally recommended that the ice maker is given 24 hours to reach the proper temperature and produce multiple batches of ice. Read More...
George July 05, 2024 for Model Number GSF26C4EXB00 Having issue with ice maker not getting enough water. Plenty of water at the water dispenser at the door. Already replaced the ice maker. Only makes about 20 cubes per day. I was thinking the fill tube may be clogged. Is that a solenoid in the ice maker with the red black connector at the fill tube. If so I need the part number. Plenty of flow to the refrigerator. Your thoughts?
1 Answer George, if the freezer is maintaining proper temperature and verified with a thermometer, the water level in the ice maker would need to be checked to identify if it is not filling properly. If the water level is not proper, or if ice cubes have lines like there are multiple layers of water freezing at different times, then the water valve WPW10258562 would be the most likely cause of failure. Doug February 09, 2023 for Model Number GSC25C4EYY02 Hello. I have no water coming from solenoid to ice maker. Replaced the control module did not work. Replaced the solenoid valve mainly because after I took main supply out could not get to reseal and had a leak so now new valve too. Did not work. Can run the ice maker through complete cycle w/jumper. Again not water. Line is clear. Seems like no 110V getting to solenoid. Metering N-V about 1/2 way through rotation I am getting 110v for several seconds, but still no h20. I am now thinking maybe there is a break in the wire between icemaker and the valve. I see the beige wire seems to be the wire color that carries power to the valve. I am pulling my hairs out at this point unless I am missing something where the power does not exit the control module if something else is broken i.e. thermostat or heater, but I don't see how that could be issue if I am bypassing the thermostat in test mode and I think if the heater is dead it will still turn on power as long as the cam lever is making contact. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.
1 Answer Doug, as there is voltage leaving the ice maker through the valve wire, if there is not voltage reaching the valve then the failure would be somewhere in the wiring between the ice maker and valve. It would be recommended that the wire harness at the door hinge is inspected to identify if there is a broken wire. If there is and it does not have enough room to repair, the door LW10438770 would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, the door is out of stock and there is not an estimated availability date for this part. Read More...
Doug November 25, 2022 for Model Number WPW10251076 / AP6017832 We replaced our icemaker a couple of years ago (WPW10251076 / AP6017832) and all was fine until recently when we started seeing water leaking out of the freezer door bottom. Appears to be intermittant so I suspect it's related to the icemaker / making ice. I opened up the icemaker and don't see any obvious signs of problems (no icicles where there shouldn't be). Any ideas of what could be wrong?
1 Answer Doug, Thanks for the question!!! This sounds like you may have a clogged defrost drain. Check the floor of the freezer for possible built of ice. Read More...
Robert August 23, 2022 for Model Number MSB26C6MDM00 Tested ice maker with a jumper and it ran through a cycle. I heard the water valve open but didn't see any water come out (though in previous testing it did after the freezer was open a bit). I undid the water lines by the toe kick and put a bowl under then connected L/V on the ice maker while in diagnostic mode and saw water come out the line. Slower than it the water dispenser line, but it was a steady flow of water. What would cause it to not make it up the door to the ice maker?
1 Answer Robert, If the water did not fill the icemaker then it sounds like you have a frozen fill tube in the door. You will need to get the tube thawed out and adjust your freezer temperature as it may be getting too cold. Read More...
Juan August 16, 2022 for Model Number WRS576FIDB02 Hi, I need to replace the Refrigerator's Ice Maker. The Model is WRS576FIDB02 Series: HR63008876 What would would the correct part number to replace it? Thank you
1 Answer Juan, The part number for the icemaker assembly on this model will be W10873791. Read More...
Joe V June 26, 2022 for Model Number Kenmore 106.51134210 My ice maker now has "icicles" coming down from the ice maker and there is ice along the bottom of the ice maker too. I am speculating that the sensor that turns off the water to fill up the pan to make ice is defective. Am I correct? Thank you
1 Answer Joe, it is possible that the ice maker is overfilling which can be identified by the cube size. If the cube sizes are normal, it is not overfilling and the ice maker would need to be inspected for any leaks between the tray and motor module. If there is a leak at this spot, the ice maker WPW10251076 would need to be replaced. If the ice cubes are larger than normal, the fill tube would need to be inspected for indications of the valve WPW10341320 allowing water to leak by. Read More...
Dana May 23, 2022 for Model Number GSF26C4EXT00 Do you have a video showing how to check the door wires and where to test for 120 VAC and 14 VDC.when the switches are taped? Do I need to take the door off to check the integrity of the door wire at the lower hinge? How can we see if the infrared emitter and receiver are working? working? Do I unplug the icemaker to look for the 120 volts? Which wires do I read across.
1 Answer Hello Dana, unfortunately, we do not have a video explaining the tests you are asking about. However, your ref model came with a Tech Sheet located under/behind the front lower grille showing all voltages, and testing procedures. Read More...
Dana May 19, 2022 for Model Number GSF26C4EXT00 Howdy, me again. What is the correct reset procedure for the WPW10251076 icemaker. I have seen "turn off the icemaker on/off switch, then unplug the fridge for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in and the switch should reset unless the icemaker is bad".
1 Answer Dana, there would not necessarily be a reset for the ice maker. It would be recommended that the door hinge is inspected for any broken wires. If there are none, the next step would be opening the door, taping the door switch and the optical board flapper shut (optics must have a clear line of sight), then testing the ice maker for 120VAC. If there is not 120VAC, the receiver optics W11813704 would be the likely cause of failure. If there is 120VAC and the ice maker does not harvest, the ice maker WPW10251076 has failed (if the freezer temperature has been verified as being at the proper temperature using a thermometer).
