Ian for Model Number WRS586FLDW00

Hi, our ice maker in our Hawaiian home does not work. I have checked the red leds are on in the ice bucket area and I have jumped wires across various test points to get things moving. My problem is that the red leds light up when the door is open, once it has been closed and reopened they are out. If I then unplug the white connection on the left side and reconnect it again it works once again. I have tried everything I can think of and have now resorted to carrying ice from the garage lol! Can you suggest a decent faultfinding flowchart or even provide a circuit diagram please? Love your site it has been the best for getting info on this subject. Regards, Ian from UK

Answer

Hello Ian, the ice maker optics red indicator light only stays on for 30-60 seconds once it is powered. It can only be tested for correct operation in the test mode, Test 15, your model refrigerator came with a technical test sheet, its located under the front cabinet behind the lower grill, also check closely the wire harness bundle coming out of the lower freezer door hinge for any wire problems.
