Joe V for Model Number Kenmore 106.51134210 My ice maker now has "icicles" coming down from the ice maker and there is ice along the bottom of the ice maker too. I am speculating that the sensor that turns off the water to fill up the pan to make ice is defective. Am I correct? Thank you
Answer Joe, it is possible that the ice maker is overfilling which can be identified by the cube size. If the cube sizes are normal, it is not overfilling and the ice maker would need to be inspected for any leaks between the tray and motor module. If there is a leak at this spot, the ice maker WPW10251076 would need to be replaced. If the ice cubes are larger than normal, the fill tube would need to be inspected for indications of the valve WPW10341320 allowing water to leak by. Read More...
