Doug for Model Number GSC25C4EYY02

Hello. I have no water coming from solenoid to ice maker. Replaced the control module did not work. Replaced the solenoid valve mainly because after I took main supply out could not get to reseal and had a leak so now new valve too. Did not work. Can run the ice maker through complete cycle w/jumper. Again not water. Line is clear. Seems like no 110V getting to solenoid. Metering N-V about 1/2 way through rotation I am getting 110v for several seconds, but still no h20. I am now thinking maybe there is a break in the wire between icemaker and the valve. I see the beige wire seems to be the wire color that carries power to the valve. I am pulling my hairs out at this point unless I am missing something where the power does not exit the control module if something else is broken i.e. thermostat or heater, but I don't see how that could be issue if I am bypassing the thermostat in test mode and I think if the heater is dead it will still turn on power as long as the cam lever is making contact. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Answer

Doug, as there is voltage leaving the ice maker through the valve wire, if there is not voltage reaching the valve then the failure would be somewhere in the wiring between the ice maker and valve. It would be recommended that the wire harness at the door hinge is inspected to identify if there is a broken wire. If there is and it does not have enough room to repair, the door LW10438770 would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, the door is out of stock and there is not an estimated availability date for this part.
