Brett for Model Number KEMC308KSS03 I am ready to order a replacement door latch, part no. AP6014072, for our KEMC308KSS03 MICROWAVE/OVEN combination unit. It was buzzing and would no longer lock to or go into a cleaning cycle. The latch looks easy enough to replace but after removing several trim pieces and the oven door, I do not see how I can either slide the microwave all the way out because of its wiring harness or access the two mounting screws and electrical connector. Please advise. Thanks BWG
Answer Hello Brett, first, this is considered a 2 person repair. The power has to be turned off to the oven and it has to be uninstalled from the cabinet. The top and upper side panels need to be unscrewed, then the control panel, work your way around the microwave section removing the mounting screws until you can either tip the microwave up in the front and hold it in place with a rod, (carefully) or remove it entirely, with the front trim covering the latch area removed you have to get under the duct panel to lift up the latch cover to access the latch assembly mounting screws and disconnect the wiring and slide the latch assembly out. Unfortunately, there is no easy way or short cut to this repair. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, April 1, 2020
